You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
Doesn't mean they're always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
Left all alone
Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I'm comin' off this
Long & winding road
I'm on my way
Home Sweet Home
OK, first post ever, so better start with a good’un!
This is the trailer for a really cool doco called the Treasures of Long Gone John. If you’re into compulsively collecting things, low-brow / pop surrealism / whatever-the-new-name-for-it-is art, punk rock or toys, this film will be a non-stop wankfest for you.
For those of you who have ever experienced a non-stop wankfest, I’d say it won’t be much like that at all. Think of something a lot more enjoyable, a lot less painful, and without the oppressive sense of defeat and self-pity at the end.
And aside from all the aesthetic goodness, I thought John’s story was really inspiring. Here’s someone who would seem a very unlikely candidate for a business guru, but what he’s done is amazing. Great to see someone achieve huge success just by finding clever ways to make what he was passionate about work for him, without having to ever compromise who he was or fuck people over. Shot LGJ!
