You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
Doesn't mean they're always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
Left all alone
Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I'm comin' off this
Long & winding road
I'm on my way
Home Sweet Home
Yo! I attended a workshop the other day on prototyping in Flash by Philip Fierlinger, head interaction designer at Xero. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Well presented, well structured, and the kind of thing that makes you think “shit… why don’t I do this all the time”, because it’s so fast and simple to do, but so so effective because of that simplicity. I highly recommend to any NZ designers out there to get along to the next one.
I’ve done bits and pieces of prototyping here and there over the years, mostly without even realising I was prototyping. You really see the power of it when you use it in the way that Phil does, with a little bit of structure and discipline, and following a few easy guidelines (which mostly just ensure you don’t make it more complicated than it’s meant to be).
Anyway, no point in me saying too much, just go to the next workshop. It’s well worth the money. Phil’s blog is here with some notes on prototyping, links, etc.
